In 2011 AES were selected to design, supply and install all design & technology machinery and associated extraction systems within four new secondary schools. The client recognised the benefits of using a single source supplier to ensure a coordinated installation of both machinery and extraction systems. AES worked with the client through a detailed consultation to ensure that the machinery layout suited the teachers and pupils needs whilst ensuring compliance with Building Bulletin 81.
Once sign off was achieved AES installation management took over ensuring that the plans were executed in coordination with buildings and services. As well as machine supply AES designed and installed the heat treatment and wood dust exaction systems. All systems were designed in accordance with P602 design fundamentals to ensure that the systems were to the standard required under HSG258. All four schools feature the unique C-Vac system which has been specifically designed for the purpose of wood dust extraction from Design & Technology machinery.
