AES team installed suitable extraction for Turcoat Phosphate Fumes

A client involved in the off-shore support industry approached AES to solve a problem with zinc phosphate fumes in a Turcoat coating process. Following an analysis of the process AES designed a system consisting of bespoke capture hoods over the dipping tank connected to a wet gas scrubber sited externally.

A major design consideration was the need to construct a hood which enclosed the process as much as possible whilst allowing for the transvers of the overhead crane. A split hood was designed with the addition of plastic curtain strips to reduce the effects of side drafts through the coating room.
