AES are the Official Distributor for Filtermist in Scotland

AES and Filtermist are working in partnership to supply businesses with high quality oil mist extraction systems and provide workplaces with effective filtration of oil and coolant mist, ensuring safer and cleaner work environments. Together we work to ensure that businesses comply with health and safety regulations while benefiting from efficient, cost-effective, and reliable oil extraction solutions.

Filtermist FX & S Series

Compact and lightweight, the Filtermist FX and S series oil mist filters are made to be mounted directly on machine tools. Additionally, floor stands and machine mounting brackets can be used to install them. In order to pull oil mist into the filter unit at high velocity, the design revolves around a perforated drum with specially made rotating veins. Special drum pads help to filter out stray solid particles and aid in the coalescing process.

Oil is pushed to the outside casing by centrifugal force, where it drains back into the machine for collection or reuse. The clean air is then sent back to the workplace via the top of the unit. Filtermist’s oil mist filter systems, which have motors ranging from 0.18kW to 2.2kW, require less energy, resulting in minimal operating expenses.

Afterfilters may be simply retrofitted to the Filtermist unit for applications that produce smoke or sub-micron particles, and they are secured over the exhaust end using clips. Up to 99.95% filtering efficiency is possible with this combination.

Absolent Filter Units

Oil mist is extracted by Absolent A•erity units using static filter media. Through the special Tilted Filter System (TFS), contaminated air is removed from the machine tool using an energy-efficient EC-fan.

Aluminium sheeting media in the filter cassettes are arranged in a concertina to expose the particles to a greater surface area. The air is cleaned and pollutants are drained using the unique Catch & Release system. Prior to going through the second and third stage filters to eliminate the finer particulates, the first stage separates the bigger oil mist particles from the air.

Finally, the air is sent through the HEPA H13 filter, which ensures 99.95% filtering efficiency. After filtering, the coolants are returned to the machine, and the workshop is circulated with the clean air.

LEV Maintenance and Testing Services

The COSHH regulations 2002 state that all Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems require to be maintained in an efficient state, in good repair, and tested at least every 14 months.  As an employer this means that, in addition to having your LEV systems tested, you must ensure that you have procedures in place to carry out regular maintenance checks and that these are documented.

All AES LEV Testing engineers are BOHS P601 qualified and all LEV testing is carried out in accordance with the COSHH 2002 regulations and HSG 258. Our services are available in Scotland and throughout the UK. In addition, we can then repair or replace your LEV system should it be required.

AES can also provide system specific maintenance programmes for all LEV systems, including electrical testing, filter replacements and servicing to ensure that your system continues to protect your workforce at all times.

Maintenance includes fault finding and diagnosis, system alterations and modifications and re-commissioning of systems to ensure compliance and operation runs as intended. In addition, we can also provide repairs to existing installations including ductwork repair, replacement or modifications, fan upgrades etc.

The Benefits of Choosing Filtermist

As well as reducing the health hazards associated with exposure to mist particles, using Filtermist oil mist collectors can also save you money. Using effective oil mist extraction can:

  • Protect machine tool control panels from unnecessary breakdowns due to oil ingression
  • Prevent unnecessary downtime
  • Reduce costs for spare parts and maintenance charges
  • Increase the time between maintenance visits for Machine Tools therefore lowering costs
  • Reduce the cost of worker sick leave and absence cover
  • Lower wastage costs by keeping the machine spindle working well so that the manufactured part is within required tolerances
  • Reduce maintenance time on the filter unit compared with other technologies = lower labour costs
  • Reduce whole lifetime costs as our quality products won’t need replacing as quickly as an inferior alternative
  • Return coolant to the machine – reducing coolant costs
  • Lower cleaning bills
  • Help to win new business with high standards of cleanliness in production facilities
  • Retain customers – reducing the costs associated with winning new business
