Vehicle exhaust fumes can irritate the eyes and respiratory tract, breathing it in is a health risk.

Carbon-fuelled engine fumes contain carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas. Prolonged exposure to diesel fumes, especially blue or black smoke, may lead to coughing and breathlessness. Long-term repeated exposure to diesel fumes over a period of about 20 years may increase the risk of lung cancer.

AES can design and supply vehicle exhaust systems from a variety of manufacturers to meet your budget and needs. We design, supply and install systems for various applications, including MOT test centres, motor vehicle repair workshops, military vehicles, and emergency vehicles e.g. in Fire Stations and Airports.

There are various solutions to removing vehicle exhaust fumes. Please browse from the options below to find which best suits your requirements.

Retractable Hose Reels

Vehicle Exhaust Hose Reels can offer a practical solution when the workshop floor space is at a premium as the hose can be set at a retractable height. Hose reels come in a variety of configurations such as spring drives mechanisms, automatic dampers and motorised retractors.

Ideal for workshops with high ceilings and limited floor space, a hose reel solution is designed for direct connection to vehicle exhaust pipes located at service bays.

Channel/Track Systems

Apart from exhaust gas extraction from stationary vehicles in static workplaces, there is also a need in many cases to extract exhaust gases from moving vehicles. This will be the case, for example, in emergency depots such as fire stations and ambulance stations. AES can install track systems from a variety of manufacturers with either pneumatic or magnetic extraction nozzles.

Touchless Systems

For high-value vehicles with diffusers or hidden exhaust pipes, these systems provide a point of extraction which can be used effectively without coming in to contact with the vehicle at any point. The are popular for sports cars fitted with carbon fibre parts or high-value alloy exhaust tips to avoid any wear during the use of the extraction equipment.

Semi-Flexible Drops

Our semi flexible drops comprise the exhaust extraction hose and a spring balancer and are connected directly to the main header duct or track system.

This gives the operator the facility to use the extraction at multiple points in a straight line thus reducing the number of points required.

Portable Exhaust Units

For smaller workshops or where a fixed installation is not possible, AES can provide solutions in the form of portable vehicle exhaust fume extractors. These units have been designed on height-adjustable trolleys with a number of different nozzle attachments and grades of hosing. The exhaust hose on the unit can then be placed at a safe location outside the working zone or connected to an exhaust point.

When moving vehicles within the workshop or idling tractors/HGV’s and machinery, portable filters can be used to help contain the fumes produced by these engines. These filters come in a range of sizes and styles to fit any vehicle type, AES can design the combination of attachments and filter units to suit your particular application.
